The NHL announced Thursday that the Dallas Stars will play their final game at American Airlines Center on Saturday night against the St. Louis Blues, ending a four-game losing streak.
Stars coach Lindy Ruff confirmed the news at a news conference, but said that his team was not planning to move on.
“There’s no timetable, no timetable,” Ruff said.
“We’ve got a long road ahead of us, and the team will move on from there.
We’re not going to change our schedule or anything.
We have a lot of good players coming back, a lot good players.
We’ll be there for the next game.”
The Stars have won three of four and will play the Blues in what will be their final home game.
The Stars’ last game in Dallas was a 2-1 victory over the Nashville Predators on Jan. 13, 2018.
Stars captain Jamie Benn and captain Jamie Oleksiak have been battling injuries since that game.
The team will look to bounce back with a victory Friday night against Nashville.
The Blues have won six straight against the Stars, including four straight victories over Dallas.
The Blues have the league’s best record at 9-0-1.
